The 2025 Altiplano Adventure, travel photography workshop, is now full. The 2025 tour Sold Out in 2 days which is crazy!! There is another tour planned for March 2026, the itinerary and inclusions will be very similar to the information you can find on this page. Itinerary
- Arrival in La Paz at El Alto International Airport. 4062m.
- Fly to Uyuni and head stright to the Salt Flats.
- Explore the Salt Flats (flooded this time of year with insane reflections).
- Photograph sunrise, sunset & astro at the Salt Flats (all x2).
- Cross parts of the Atacama Desert (incredible dark skies for Astro).
- Visit Hot Springs and Geysers at 4000+m.
- Photograph the incredible landscapes, wildlife & lakes of the Altiplano.
- Travel back across the desert visiting new areas and colourful lakes.
- Visit Uyuni & the Train Cemetery for insane sunset shoot and astro.
- Fly back to La Paz and then home.
Trip Highlights
- Flooded Salt Flats creating the perfect giant mirror for incredible landscape images including Astro reflections.
- The astro photography here is insane!! Every night there are pure dark skies and a great opportunity to capture the milky way in full.
- Crossing the Altiplano of southern Bolivia is a high altitude adventure. We will visit the Ollague Volcano viewpoint, Cañapa lagoon, Chiarcota and Turquiri lagoons (all located at an average height of 4,300 m.a.s.l.), we can observe flamingos, vicuñas and other wildlife of the Siloli desert.
- Visit Laguna Colorada and one of the most photogenic spots in all the Altiplano. Here we will stay overnight to make the most of the location.
- Returning to Uyuni across the Altiplano with more opportunities for unique high altitude landscape & wildlife & astro photography.Â
- The BEST PIZZA in Bolivia at Minute Man Pizza Uyuni. Trust me this is delicious and the best way to celebrate the end of a crazy journey!!

Your Travel Photography Tour Leaders
Greg Snell & Brendan Van Son
These two muppet pioneers have known each other since 2017 and have been working together begrudgingly since that time. Both BvS and G-Unit are professional Travel Photographers. Both have visited all 7 continents, worked extensively in the travel and tourism industry, speak embarrassingly bad forms of Spanish, French, Portuguese and Canadian English (although Greg’s German is pretty good if I do say so myself). Both are level headed and somewhat nice people.
Basically you’re in good hands with two experienced travel professionals and relatively good photographers. Speaking of photography, both Greg and Brendan have been working as pro photographers for over a decade and have gained some knowledge during that time.
