This year’s trip is currently SOLD OUT. Therefore we are building a new group of photographers interested in joining for the 2027 adventure. Those dates are set as August 16 – 25, 2027.

As this is a package tour product, German travel law does not allow us to take your deposit immediately. We must first begin the booking process by collecting some basic details about your trip. Once the submission is complete, we will respond with the appropriate deposit payment information.

Itinerary

  • Arrival in Keflavík International Airport (Iceland).
  • Fly to Kulusuk, East Greenland. This flight is included in the trip price.
  • Explore an Ice Cave with private guide then boat to Tasiilaq.
  • Check into our two private lodges with cooks and service.
  • Explore Knud Rasmussen Glacier and Ammassalik Fjord by boat.
  • Photograph the incredible landscape of the Sermilik Icefjord.
  • Rest day enjoying Tasiilaq, the Sled Dogs and the Flower Valley.
  • Explore the area around Ikkatteq and the Johan Petersen Fjord.
  • Visit Isortoq village. A remote outpost in East Greenland.
  • Boat back to Kulusuk then fly back to Iceland that same day.

Accommodation

The two private arctic lodges are charming, traditional Greenlandic houses that have recently been renovated and are conveniently located in the center of Tasiilaq. Both houses offer easy access to the town, with the local supermarket nearby. Situated on slightly elevated ground, the houses provide beautiful views across the town, harbour, and fjord.

 

Together, the houses offer comfortable accommodation for groups, with single beds distributed across several bedrooms and ample storage space. The interiors feature spacious living areas furnished with comfortable sofas, flat screen TVs, stereos, and a small collection of music and books. An internet connection is available throughout the houses.

 

The kitchens are fully equipped for self catering and include large dining tables suitable for group meals. There are multiple bathrooms, each with flushing toilets and hot water showers.

 

Outside, guests can enjoy sunny verandas and porches with wide views of the harbour and surrounding fjord, making them a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Tasiilaq and the surrounding Arctic landscape.

The East Greenland Photography Adventure is rated 3 on the physical requirements scale. You can expect some longer walks and easy hikes, but nothing too strenuous and with very little elevation gain. East Greenland is a vast and open landscape where it is possible to walk for miles. However, most of our travel will be by boat as we venture into remote fjords. From there, we will dock and explore the surrounding areas on foot.

  • Twin occupancy accommodation. Single supplement is available. This depends on how the rooming in the lodges works out with group numbers. If you're interested in single supplement let us know.

Greg Snell has worked as a professional travel photographer & adventure tour leader since 2011.

 

From working with G Adventures in South America to winning Tourism Australia’s “Best Jobs in the World” competition, Greg has spent the last two decades exploring 80+ countries. He documents life-changing experiences through inspiring storytelling on YouTube.

 

As a graduate of the College of the Rockies in Adventure Tourism Business Operations, he is a trained tour leader and an expert in operating international travel photography workshops and tours.
